Our Approach
Durango Somatic Psychotherapy offers client-centered, body-based therapy to help you heal by working directly with your nervous system. Our mission is to provide a grounded, compassionate space where you can listen to your body, process what you’ve been through, and build a more regulated and connected life.
Why Somatic Therapy Helps
Somatic therapy doesn’t rely on talking alone; by involving your body and nervous system, it can help release stored tension and trauma, ease symptoms like anxiety or shutdown, and make change feel more attainable and long-lasting.
Getting Started With Therapy Is Simple

Everyone receives a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

Together, we’ll identify goals and create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Begin to experience healing, growth, and meaningful change.

About Colin, Founder and Lead Therapist
As a somatic therapist based in Durango, Colorado, with over ten years of experience, I am here to walk alongside you on a path of connection, healing, and self-discovery.
Drawing from my background in Sociology, Somatic Psychology, and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I offer a holistic and embodied approach to therapy. My clinical experience includes a two-year internship as a somatic counselor at La Plata Family Therapy and a nine-month graduate training with Four Corners Counseling in Durango, Colorado.
I am also trained in EMDR through an EMDRIA-approved program, allowing me to integrate evidence-based trauma treatment with somatic and mindfulness-based approaches. This combination supports deep nervous-system healing and helps clients process trauma, anxiety, and distress with greater safety and effectiveness.
As a mental health counselor, I provide one-on-one psychotherapy, group therapy workshops, and therapeutic wellness retreats. In a safe and supportive environment, we’ll explore your emotional and behavioral patterns and take meaningful steps toward greater joy, clarity, purpose, and fulfillment in your life.

Empowering Growth
The counseling offices at Durango Somatic Psychotherapy are designed to feel calm, private, and welcoming; supporting safety, presence, and meaningful work.
